A winter weather advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday due to expected snow, sleet and freezing rain. Accumulations of 2 to 4 inches of snow are possible in the far northwestern suburbs but 1 to 2 inches of snow is possible in the Baltimore and D.C. metro areas. A small amount of ice accumulation is forecast.

Precipitation will begin as snow or rain Friday evening. Snow will continue overnight northwest of the Interstate 95 corridor but areas southwest of the interstate should expec rain or freezing rain. The precipitation will end as mainly snow Saturday morning.

Temperatures will be in the low 30s.

Untreated roads and sidewalks will be slippery and could create hazardous travel conditions.
