The historic Hay-Adams has spring on its mind -- the hotel is already planning its cherry blossom specials. Here is what's happening March 20-April 17: The hotel's contemporary dining room, The Lafayette, will offer a Japanese-inspired three-course pre-fixe dinner for $70. Expect dishes such as yellowfin tuna tartar, caramelized Chilean sea bass, nori-wrapped black Angus strip steak and more. Downstairs at the hotel's bar, Off The Record, sip on the Off The Record Blossom, made with Hendricks gin, maraschino liquor, lemon juice, creme de violette liquor and garnished with a limoncello marinated cherry.
Each day of festival season, Executive Pastry Chef Josh Short will meet and greet guests in the hotel's lobby with a complimentary chocolate and cherry macaroon from 4 to 5 p.m.
