MONDAY NIGHT/OVERNIGHT: Mostly cloudy
Lows: 20-28
Winds: Southeast 5 mph
Although it will be cold overnight, official cold weather alerts from the National Weather Service are off the table. Plan for temperatures to settle to the 20s by dawn.

TUESDAY: Turning mostly sunny
Highs: 45-52
Winds: South 5-10 mph
Big turnaround day as milder air pushes in and temperatures jump noticeably compared to recent days. Parts of the Shenandoah Valley could flirt with 60, while areas farther north run cooler if the mild air arrives later in the day. Afternoon high temperatures inside and around the beltway are forecast to reach, or exceed, the average high of 46 degrees.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy
Highs: 45-50
Winds: Northwest 10-20 mph
Although it will be a tad cooler compared to Tuesday, it’s still a manageable day overall. Expect highs in the 30s to mid 40s, with the best chance for any wintry mix chances to stay over the mountains.

THURSDAY: Partly cloudy and breezy
Highs: 38-43
Winds: Northwest 10-20 mph
Gusts: 20-25 mph
Another quiet, seasonably cool day with a bit more of a northwest breeze at times. Still dry for most, but the mountains may squeeze out a spotty shower as the late-week pattern starts to turn more active. Highs will range from the upper 30s to lower 40s.
